Item Description
A classic Tri-State Galena featuring a predominant, 2.4 cm, sharp, silvery-grey colored crystal that is epitaxially overgrown by small cuboctahedral Galena crystals. A smaller example of the same phenomenon can be seen on the other side of the piece. Minor reddish-brown Sphalerites are sprinkled on the matrix, and for the most part, the piece is in excellent condition. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4021). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous area.
