Item Description

A wonderful cluster of splendent, sharp galena octahedrons from this classic locale. This is a very visual, 360-degree, specimen. One face of the large crystal is twinned. This specimen is from a small find made by the late Richard Barstow in the mid-1970s when he happened to, by luck, come across this mine as they were blasting and had broken into a pocket of incredible galenas which he was allowed to take away. All good specimens in modern collections, I am told, came from this serendipitous find. Ex Jaime Bird Collection, so the timing is correct for his collection.
