A classic cabinet display specimen from the famous Tri-State District featuring sharp, highly lustrous, well-formed, gun metal gray metallic cubes of Galena associated with gemmy little "ruby jack" crystals Sphalerite on a layer of iridescent Marcasite/Pyrite on matrix. While there are not a lot of species found in this area, the Galena crystals are classics, and some of the most well-known examples from any US locality. The largest Galena measures 1.5 cm. Very little damage, only a few minor nicks here and there. Despite the fact that there was a lot of these pieces on the market years ago, very few of them are out there now. This is a good one, with great isolation between the crystals, and it would look fantastic in a display case.
