Item Description

Both a USA classic and an aesthetic cluster of well-formed, "fortification style" Galena cubes from the Picher field in Kansas. The largest cube is 3.6 cm on edge, and the metallic luster is excellent. Octahedral modifications on the surface create the 'fortification' look, and this is one of the finest of this particular habit that I have seen from here. Fine aesthetics and super quality for the species and location. This is/was common material 70-90 years ago! Today, go try to find a good one, especially in such quality?! You cannot. This is a stunning display piece of the unique style of the old Missouri lead district.
