Item Description

An impressive and excellent, large, old-time combination plate from the Kansas portion of the famous Tri-State District. These date to the 1940s-1960s and are true classics. Seldom do we see such a nicely balanced piece as this which meets with modern criteria. This is one of two here, from an old collection. A pristine, 4.8 x 3.7 x 2.3 cm, slightly modified, lustrous, battleship-gray, galena cube is aesthetically set on the chert matrix covered with sharp, pastel-pink, dolomite rhombs. The striking multitude of razor-sharp, beautifully iridescent, chalcopyrite crystals REALLY adds pizzazz to this very fine old-timer. Classic combination material. Valued at $900.
