Item Description

Striking, intergrown, cuboctahedral, galena crystals with splendent, pitted faces are beautifully accented by a rosette of flattened calcite rhombs. The preferential coating of bladed siderite balls and crusts of microcrystals are a fine compliment and are diagnostic of the famous Nikolaevskiy Mine at Dal'negorsk. An impressive, aesthetic and classic combination from the Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired in 1995, when many fine Dal'negorsk specimens were on the market. The calcites fluoresce red-orange. Heavy lead at 1003 grams or 2.2 pounds. Valued at $500.
