Galena and Sphalerite (ex Russel and Van Tichelen Collections)

Item Description

This is a wonderful small miniature specimen featuring about half a dozen sharp, very well-formed cuboctahedral crystals of steel-grey Galena studded with a few small gemmy, lustrous reddish Sphalerite crystal groups. The piece is essentially a "floater" with no notable point of attachment that I can see. A wonderful example of these well known sulfides from this famous Fluorite locality in Illinois. From the collection of Rick and Deanna Russell, later to the collection of Wouter Van Tichelen.
