Item Description
Excellent combination piece featuring Galena intermixed with Marcasite, from the Aurora Mine in Ramsbeck. The largest Galena cube is 2 cm on edge, and all the Galenas have a bright, metallic luster and corners modified by the octahedron. This habit is sharp, well-formed, interesting, and attractive. Growing among the Galena crystals are rounded clusters of Marcasite microcrystals, having good, metallic luster and the classic, brassy-green color. This is a fine, aesthetic combination that is actually quite uncommon for the area. This was initially acquired from A. Berger of Vienna circa 1900.
