Item Description

So-called Sparkly Galenas are one of the treasures found at the Blanchard Mine. The fine drusy coating found on the Galenas are tiny Anglesite crystals formed as pseudomorphs aftering after Galena. These crystals are thus partly changed from the outside in, to anglesite. There are also small Linarite crystals on some of the Galenas. The visual appeal of these specimens is quite good, and this is one of the better ones I have seen for the size ad geometry. The largest of the dozen Galena crystals is 2.5 cm. and they are spread out and balanced across the matrix. A very good, appealing cabinet specimen of high quality for this material and this locality. Better in person!
