Item Description

Turt Mine Galena specimens always remind me of Tri-State material from the United States (Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas). Here we have a nice reference specimen of Galena from the famous Turt Mine in Romania. The piece features the classic cuboctahedral habit associated with this mine, but it has a brighter and shinier luster than most I've seen from the locality. The main crystal is also larger than most I've seen from the Turt Mine as well. The piece is not 100% pristine, as there are some broken faces on the base/back of the specimen, but it's still a decent overall example of this now hard to find material from this locality.
