Item Description
Remarkable melted-look faces and corners on this impressive and sculptural small cabinet of dramatically intergrown galena cubes from this Bulgarian polymetallic sulfide deposit. The cubes have brilliant metallic-gray luster and reach 4.5 cm on edge. Some of the faces are enhanced by very interesting gas bubble cavities and deformations. Heavy lead ore at 820 grams or 1.8 pounds mass. The piece displays well without aid. Valued at $1200. The mine is well-known for excellent galena specimens and this is an outstanding example. We saw these in the 1990s, not since! Old material.
