Item Description

Gahnite is a member of the Spinel Group and is probably a zinc-rich spinel. Lustrous, sharp, black octahedrons to 7 mm are scattered among rich pods of sharp to euhedral, bluish-green gahnite crystals to 6 mm on all sides of the marble matrix wedge. Specimens from this locale are rarely on the market in this richness and quality. Ex Giancarlo Fioravanti Collectiohn and obtained from the Rome Geological Museum in 1960. Old material.
