Item Description
Friedellite is a relatively rare silicate that is found at only about three dozen localities worldwide. Within the great Franklin Mining District, there are hundreds of mineral species, with Friedellite among the most classic and well known. This small cabinet specimen has a phenomenal 2.5-3.5 cm thick vein of variegated, red, and translucent Friedellite capping the piece. Intermixed below the Friedellite is massive Franklinite with massive Willemite. Of course, the Willemite has its typical brilliant green fluorescence. A superb specimen, this was originally priced at $1500 over a decade ago!
