Item Description

Friedelite is a relatively rare silicate that is only found in a few localities world wide. There are hundreds of species that occur around the Franklin mining district, and Friedelite is among the most classic and well known. This piece hosts many small (less than 1 mm), sharp, tan, pseudo crystals of Friedelite on typical Franklin matrix. It came from the later finds at Sterling Hill (1984 to be exact). This piece is from the famous New Jersey collection of Richard A. Kosnar, and originally was sold by Parker Minerals of Livingston, New Jersey
