Franklinite, willemite and calcite combinations are a Franklin and Sterling Hill classic and this is a very aesthetic small cabinet example. A 2.1 x 2.0 x 2.0 cm, sharp, lustrous, franklinite octahedron is very jaunitly perched atop massive, lustrous, pastel-pink calcite. The two, equant, lustrous, partially translucent, honey-brown, willemite crystals to 2.0 cm are a super color contrast and compliment. The lightly dinged tip to the octo is a modest detraction to this unusually fine and displayable piece. Neon-green willemite fluorescence and modest pink calcite fluorescence. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. The former dealer had this priced at $750 and it is worth that and more. A worthy and classic Franklin combination miniature.
