Item Description
Classic and sculptural large 3-species combination from the renowned Franklin Mine, Co-Type Locality for Franklinite. Three rounded, distorted black Franklinite octahedrons are aesthetically set on the blocky, gray Calcite matrix strikingly accented with sections of brick-red Willemite. The two large franklinites on the ends are 5.0 and 4.5 cm long. and the small crystal on top is 3.0 cm long. The 4.5 cm franklinite is pristine and the other two have only minimal, mostly out-of-sight bruising. Classic SW UV neon-green willemite and rich red calcite fluorescence. The piece displays well without aid and has several fine display views. Ex Ed David Collection. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and assembled several world-class collections before passing away in 2017. An outstanding large example of the desirable combination from the famed locale with bright fluorescence. An important large display specimen for this old classic combination. Valued $4500-6000.
