Franklinite (rare cuboctahedral form) (ex Rich Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A classic Franklinite specimen with very sharp, highly lustrous and rarely seen cuboctahedral crystals in massive Calcite and Willemite matrix. Franklin is one of the most prolific and renowned localities in the world, and Franklinite is one of the signature species from this area. I realize that the majority of species from Franklin are rather rare and do not lend themselves to excellent display specimens, but I honestly feel that every good worldwide collection should have at least a few specimens from Franklin it, and Franklinite is certainly one of the most characteristic species from this famous historic mining district.
