Franklinite on Willemite and Calcite

Aesthetically emplaced on a matrix consisting of calcite and willemite, are several lustrous, black octahedrons to 1 cm in length of frankinite. Short wave fluorescence exhibits a vivid neon green response from both the willemite and to a lesser extent, the calcite. Despite the enormous production of specimens like this over the centuries, availability of specimens is diminishing in today's marketplace.
