Superb fire-orange crystals of Francevillite in small, attractive clusters richly covering velvety, brown Mounanaite, both TYPE LOCALITY specimens, on matrix. This is featured on the COVER of the book. From the impressive and expansive collection of Dr. Robert J. Lauf, this is a PUBLISHED and Type Locality specimen, both of which are of particular interest to collectors. Note his personal card and signed book with the piece on the cover, are included. The book is hardcover, heavy, and an important tome in its own right! Bob purchased it from Leonard HImes in the early 1990s for over $300 and it is certainly worth far more today. These turn up rarely, and generally came out from the era of teh Belgian exploration geologists such as Gilbert Gauthier, in the 1960s-1970s.
