Item Description
This rich and showy small cabinet hosts 2 Type Locality uranium rarities. Scattered spherical clusters of tiny tabular orange Francevillite crystals, a hydrated Ba-U-vanadate, are seen on the rich crust of yellow Curienite micro blades, a hydrated Pb-U-vanadate. They are members of the Curienite-Francevillite Series. The extinct, since 1999, Mounana Uranium Mine in Gabon is the Type Locality for numerous rare uranium species. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. A fine and rich combination example of the species.
