Item Description
An exceptionally fine and uncommon, large, pocket growth cluster of sharp fluororichterite and K Feldspar variety adularia crystals from this noted Ontario locale. Fluororichterite is an uncommon Amphibole Group species. The highly lustrous, green to black, well-striated, fluororichterite crystals reach 6.0 cm in length (doubly terminated) and the impressive broad crystal is 5.0 cm wide. The glassy, sharp adularia crystals are up to 3.3 cm wide. This impressive jackstraw cluster of crystals has striking visual appeal from many angles and ALL of the many major fluororichterites are sharply terminated. Periphery wear to the piece and oxide coatings on the terminations are noted, but have no impact to rare combination quality of this fine piece. Undoutably old-time material. This piece was originally sold to a collector as a Erongo schorl specimen! Wrong. Now rare, excellent and important. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
