Fluoro-rictherite (excellent crystal)

Item Description

This excellent crystal of Fluoro-richterite was mined in 1981 in the Wilberforce area of Ontario, which is one of the best known localities for specimens of Fluoro-richterite. This specimen is one of the best examples we've had to offer in the auctions in recent years, as it is a rather sharp, well-formed, lustrous, deep greenish-brown colored, thin prism, with no major damage that I can see, outside of the base where it was detached from the pocket wall. For reference, Fluoro-richterite is an amphibole species (there are actually six individual valid species of "richterite"), and these crystals have been analyzed and confirmed. A really attractive single crystal of this rare and fine quality material.
