Item Description

An impressive large Fluoro-richterite combination from the Wilberforce area of the famous Bancroft Area of Ontario. Fluoro-richterite is a RARE member of the Amphibole Supergroup. A striking 10.7 cm pair of parallel-growth doubly terminated crystals dramatically dominates the sculptural 360-degree piece. Numerous other richterite crystals and crystal sections are embedded in the contrasting massive calcite matrix along with Biotite/Phlogopite. The highly lustrous shimmering striated richterites have a gray hue. Ex Richard Rossi Collection. Richard is a Senior Fellow of the Mineralogical Record. Bancroft area fluoro-richterites are easily the world's finest and this is an outstanding large combination example.
