Item Description

Classic, desirable rich sky-blue color on this sculptural small cabinet cluster of integrown fluorite cubes from the famous Annabel Lee Mine of Illinois. The gemmy to translucent cubes reach 3.2 cm on edge and have nifty narrow purple edge phantoms. The satin luster crystals faces are enhanced by etched, stepped-growth, two adorable, sharp, Sphalerite crystals, to 7 mm, and a nice sprinkling of tiny, bright, golden, Chalcopyrite sphenoids. Backlighting really highlights the intense blue color. In great shape, overall, with, only three gently bruised corners and edges. Purple LW UV fluorescence. The Annabel Lee Mine was one of the last Illinois fluorite mines to open in 1984 and was the last mine to close in 1985 (MINDAT). Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. An aesthetic color-zoned, rich blue fluorite specimen with fine accessories from this noted locale.
