Fluorite with Sphalerite

Item Description

A large, weighty specimen of intense grape-juice purple fluorite cubes associated with lustrous jet-black sphalerites, on hard rock matrix. Minor galena crystals are also present. This combination of matrix and color was only found in the older specimens of the area, and this is such a piece, I am sure (probably from the Annabel Lee Mine by its color). Although it has some small edge wear, and a few missing corners, this is an impressive piece visually despite that damage.
