Item Description

This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen, has no Amazonite, but it is a good overall piece featuring a few sharp, gemmy, cubic blue crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 1.8 cm on edge. You can see black Smoky Quartz and beige colored Microcline on the piece, which are classic minerals found with this material. The main Fluorite is not damaged, it just has an interesting etched surface. Please note that indoors, the color is a soft purple hue, but it's much more BLUE in sunlight. Don't miss out on this Colorado "classic".
