Item Description

A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME and very showy German CABINET fluorite specimen with an excellent provenance. The glassy, colorless, cuboctahedral fluorite crystals on this 3-dimensional piece have a preferential overgrowth of matte-finish, light rust-red hematite. A few of the crystal faces have an additional, preferential overgrowth of sparkly, golden siderite microcrystals. Facinating! This historic piece is essentially damage-free and hails from the famous Harz Mountains. Ex Bement, American Museum and Herb Obodda Collections. Obviously around 100 years old or more. Valued at $1500-2000 for locality, quality and historical value.
