Fluorite with Schorl inclusions

Item Description

The Erongo Mountains of Namibia have been providing collectors with beautiful minerals for decades. Some of the most well-known Fluorites in recent memory have come from this area, and this piece is a gorgeous thumbnail featuring a group of very gemmy, soft blue and purple colored modified dodecahedral crystals which play host to a handful of thin acicular black Schorl crystals, creating a very pleasing effect. Minor Muscovite and Goethite can be seen on the base of the piece. I can't find any damage with the naked eye. The Fluorites are so gemmy that they require no backlighting, and you can clearly see the needle-like Schorl crystals suspended within. A really dazzling little thumbnail of this classic material.
