Item Description

Some of the most classic fluorites for all of the U.S. came from the historic Sunnyside mine in southwestern Colorado. This is an excellent example of a super sharp, translucent, pastel-green octahedron richly sprinkled with tiny rhodochrosites! The two primary faces with the rhodos are lightly frosted, while the third face with no rhodos, is glassy and lustrous. The base is contacted, but is mostly damage-free and the back edge is partially cleaved. This remains one of the best green Sunnyside fluorite octahedrons, that I have seen. Ex John Ydren Collection. SUPER purple fluorescence! Very seldom available in this quality. Valued $200
