Item Description

The new Chinese Rhodos from Babu have made a big splash on the market The specimens associated with Fluorite really remind me of specimens I've seen from various mines in Colorado. If this piece were from the Sweet Home mine or the Climax mine, it would be a great treasure for many Colorado collectors. It features several VERY sharp, lustrous/glassy, gemmy, purple and colorless cubes of Fluorite which are assocaited with compressed rhombohedra of beautiful pink Rhodochrosite sitting on white Quartz matrix. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 1.1 cm and the largest Rhodochrosite crystal is 0.9 cm. You really don't see many of these new Rhodos associated with Fluorite from this locality, so don't pass this one up because the locality has produced little to nothing in the way of specimens in months. Valued at $800 retail.
