Item Description

A wonderful small cabinet sized piece of the famous specimens from the Cacilia Mine featuring green crystals of Fluorite which are cubic in habit measuring up to 2.3 cm on edge which are coated by a thin layer of drusy Quartz, but the most important aspect of the specimen is that there are several GEMMY, honey-colored crystals of Sphalerite sitting on top of the Quartz layer. This is only the second specimen I've seen from this mine featuring crystals of Sphalerite, and although they are small (measuring up to about 1 mm), they look BEAUTIFUL under magnification. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4901). Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
