Fluorite with RARE Jamesonite inclusions (ex Alex Venzke Collection)

Item Description

The famous Yaogangxian Mine in China is not only one of the most prolific localities in the entire country in terms of the sheer quantity and quality of good mineral specimens it has produced, but it also has some cool rarities, and this piece is a great example of said material. This full sized miniature specimen features several very sharp, lustrous, rather gemmy, soft blue colored (more green under halogen lighting) cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.6 cm on edge, but if you look closely, you'll see tiny acicular metallic crystals of the rare lead iron antimony sulfosalt, Jamesonite frozen inside! The Fluorites are nearly transparent, so it's fairly easy to see the "needle"-like Jamesonite crystals once the piece with backlit. Minor associated Dolomite makes for a great touch. Excellent condition and very attractive in person.
