Fluorite with Quartz on Fluorite

Item Description

Dazzling Yaogangxian Fluorite specimen with exceptional color with phantoms that is derived from multiple phases of different color combinations of development. The initial layer on bottom is a rich electric green color with blue center phantoms that can be seen from the bottom view. The side view shows the progression of a thin purple layer followed by the final development of sharp, glassy, almost transparent, intergrown Fluorite cubes of a faint green color with purple center phantoms and slightly purple beveled edges. The translucency of the specimen allows for the blending of these three layers to create a breathtaking mosaic of incredible color that glows like the northern lights when backlit. The large elevated cube on the display face is 1.6 cm across and while the cubes are not the biggest, the highlighted superior color exhibits a much larger visual impact that is even better in person. The piece is accented by small radiating bursts of terminated jewels of Quartz crystals lining the top of the display face providing a great contrast to the Fluorites. The specimen is in near-pristine condition with only some trivial edge wear. The enchanting glowing color combination is memorable. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl Collection.
