Another very fine large fluorite and quartz combination from the well-known De'an fluorite mine of China, to go along with the purple example in this auction. However, green was the much rarer color for this style! This is an impressive, large 6.9 x 4.9 cm, blue-green cuboctahedron with stepped-growth, satin luster frosted/etched faces is aesthetically set on the mounded nubby quartz crystal matrix. Modest purple fluorescence is a bonus. Back lighting reveals that the crystal is quite gemmy with a warm glow. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $185 for free. Ex Jim Boteler Fluorite Collection. Common 10 years ago, you don't see much around today. An outstanding large example of this color varietal and form, quite different from most of what you see/saw from here many years ago (probably mined in 2005-2010).
