Item Description
Mt Antero is best known for its attractive gemmy Aquamarine crystals, but there are many species found on the various miarolitic pegmatites at 14,000 feet along the Colorado front range. This piece hosts fairly sharp, translucent soft lilac / blue colored Fluorite crystals measuring up to 1.8 cm across sitting atop a matrix of prismatic, white Quartz crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm long. Good quality for the most part, and it's a cool esoteric piece to add to a Fluorite suite or a Colorado collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10316). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
