Item Description

The famous Blanchard Mine in New Mexico is well-known for its beautiful Fluorite specimens. This locality has been the source of excellent blue, purple and green Fluorite specimens for years. They are some of the most recognizable Fluorites from any US locality for their color and often found good sized display specimens. This piece is a great example of said material, hosting several, well-formed, gemmy, light green color cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.4 cm on edge associated with drusy white Quartz coating and little pyramidal crystals on matrix. Nearly all of the Fluorites are undamaged, I can see one cleaved crystal on the front/display side, but it's still a very colorful and alluring specimen of this seldom seen material from one of the most classic localities in New Mexico. It also sits nicely on its own without the aid of a base or clay. If you collect Fluorites, minerals of New Mexico or association pieces, this is a nice example from this renowned locality.
From the collection of Dave Stoudt, with a label from Victor Yount.
