Item Description

Stunning, water-clear gem, light lavender fluorite cuboctahedrons cover the front of this impressive, 360-degree mounded combination "ball" from the famous silver-polymetallic San Martin Mine of Zacatecas. The cubocts, to 3.0 cm, have preferentially etched faces, that add much character. You can see the black sulfide core through the fluorite crystals. The fluorites on the back of the "ball" are festooned with small cream-colored calcite rhombohedrons and several quartz points, to 3.0 cm, are mostly covered by the calcites. Modest purple fluorescence. Older, choice, rich and rare combination material from the Dick Hauck Collection.
