Fluorite with Quartz and Calcite

Item Description

Here we have a beautiful Fluorite display specimen from the famous Shangbao Mine in China featuring attractive bi-colored crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm, which show gorgeous green and purple zoning. They are quite gemmy when backlit, and you can see directly into the center, as many of them are virtually water clear! The crystals are predominantly octahedral in habit, but they show defined cubic faces. They are sitting on a matrix of partially etched white / colorless Quartz with several thin scalenohedral Calcite crystals. There are a few tiny Pyrite crystals on the underside of the piece for a nice touch. There is no major damage that I can see and the piece is virtually crystallized all over, so it's nearly a complete "floater".
