Fluorite with Quartz

Item Description

Slightly translucent spherical aggregates of purple fluorite, to 3.5 cm across are nicely perched on colorless quartz on this UNIQUE specimen from decades ago! These have not been seen in many years. It appears that the core of the fluorite spheres exhibit a yellow component, looking in from beneath with strong light. This is such a strange occurence and botryoidal fluorite is already rare in the world. Note that the piece seems to be mine run, never to a lab and properly cleaned, which could benefit and improve teh color. From the Keith Williams Collection of miniatures and small cabinet specimens - Keith was a well known dealer and collector for decades before retiring recently. His collection label notes an $850 value, which seems low for the rarity of such a piece.
