Fluorite with Quartz

A showy and excellent LARGE CABINET mounded specimen of intergrown, translucent, "Blanchard-blue", fluorite cubes richly and attractively piled atop a quartz-coated matrix of massive fluorite from the famous Blanchard Mine of New Mexico. Many of the lightly frosted cubes have pretty purple edges, for which Blanchard fluorite is renowned. The iron-stained quartz underneath some of the cubes gives them a yellow cast. There is even one galena cube on the fluorites. Periphery wear is noted, but is minimally detracting in the overall context of this striking, large piece. Contemporary classic material. 4.9 pounds or 2.2 kilos.
