Item Description

When these Fluorites first hit the market, they were immediately recognized as some of the best green Fluorites from any world locality, which is saying something since Fluorite is one of the most popular and collectible mineral species in the world as it occurs in virtually any color you can think of, and can be found in big, showy display pieces with a great number of beautiful crystal habits. These attractive pieces Riemvasmaak started coming out in the early 2000s, and they have a quite unique green color that is distinctive from Fluorites from other localities, along with sharp octahedral form. For all you collectors who missed out on these Fluorites, this is a great chance to pick up a fine display specimen of this lovely material. This piece features a predominant, excellent, strong green color, gemmy octahedral crystal intermixed associated with drusy grey Quartz crystals. The Fluorite measures 2.7 cm across at its longest dimension. If you backlight the piece, you can see there are some Fluorites which are almost completely coated by the Quartz on the lower portion of the specimen. The main Fluorite is in great shape on the front/display side, but it's partially incomplete on the back where it was separated from the pocket wall.
