Fluorite with Quartz

Item Description

A gorgeous and really fine quality cabinet sized display specimen from the famed Shangbao Mine featuring several, well-formed, gemmy, lustrous, crystals of Fluorite with attractive purple hues that range from saturated to muted, measuring up to 4.0 cm on edge, associated with small white Quartz crystal matrix. While the Fluorites are predominantly cubic in habit, you can see modifying dodecahedral faces on the edges. The piece is nearly crystallized on all sides, and is close to being a complete "floater", but I can see some points of attachment around the Quartz where it was separated from the pocket wall. All of the Fluorite crystals are in great condition, and I can't find any major damage with the naked eye. Great quality older material dating back to the early 2000s. A fantastic big eye-catching specimen to add to any Fluorite collection or suite of Chinese minerals. Valued at $5,000 in the inventory for size, quality and sheer visual beauty.
