Item Description
A showy small cabinet piece from the La Fluorita Dulcita Claim in south-central Arizona. You might have seen the beautiful purple "ochsenaugen" (ox eye) habit crystals from this locality, but this piece doesn't quite have that particular style, though the crystals are slightly "curved", like the true "ochsenaugen" crystals. This piece hosts a predominant translucent purple octahedral Fluorite group measuring 4.0 cm across associated with many smaller Fluorite crystals, on a crystallized "plate" of sparkling Quartz. There appear to be some kinds of "casts" or pseudomorphs where the Quartz has replaced another mineral (possibly Calcite, as I've seen replacements of Quartz after Calcite from this locality). No major damage on the front/display side. A good overall piece of this uncommon material.
