Fluorite with Pyrite, Marcasite

Item Description

This is an oldtimer from earlier Chinese finds: Magnificently zoned cuboctahedron Fluorites with glassy translucent cubic faces and almost frosted looking, thick beveled edges. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 2.5 cm in size and has beveled edges up to 1 cm. The Flourites have a green core and a rich purple zoned outer edge. When illuminated the colors combine to show more of a blue-green center with a glowing purple edge (with strong backlighting, this is visible). While the piece is on an opaque metallic matrix, the edges will still light up when backlit. In addition to the color combination, the piece is accented with a secondary sprinkling of contrasting golden metallic Pyrite crystals - cubes of pyrite with occasional metallic pyramidal Marcasite as well. The display face is in great condition with the piece having only acceptable periphery wear from extraction. A very desirable Fluorite color combination. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl.
