A sculptural large fluorite from the famous Minerva No. 1 Mine of Illinois, with a classic look to it that has made these fluorites famous for decades. The two impressive large intergrown side-by-side translucent cubes have beautiful rich medium blue color. The satin lustre faces highlight the stepped-growth. Adding character and color, the cubes are richly included with purple fluorite speckles and tiny sharp brassy chalcopyrite. The cubes have a beautiful blue glow when backlit that highlights the myriad of purple speckles, adding character. The noted periphery wear on the top is certainly only a modest detraction. Blue is a classic and desirable fluorite color from this well-known locale and these are large crystals. Purple fluorescence. Ex Taylor Hunt Collection.
