Fluorite with phantoms

Now famous, this material from a special pocket of fluorite in 2017 has really grown in legends and never been equaled. Okorusu has given us so much fluorite, of so many different varieties, since the 1970s. And yet, this yellow/purple combo surprised us all. At the time they came out, I bought much (not all) of the pocket and we had it in hand when travelling through San Francisco. Jack Halpern bought this from us, at the time the largest specimen in the lot with good luster and the richest color hues. On this large display plate, which looks fabulous when backlit even a little, both the yellow (amber-golden) and the purple (raspberry-red-purpley in hue) come through easily. It has excellent contrast of the colors and as a bonus there are super-sharp phantoms in nearly all crystals. There is almost no damage, only restricted to the edge periphery and minimal in context as these all came out from a pocket wall, this is expected. Note that the colors change a bit, as with most fluorite depending on whether you are in daylight, LED, or overhead room lighting. It practically GLOWS when backlit as it was in the Halpern collection displays. All in all, a stunning, large, dramatic piece that is quite unlike anything you have ever seen from this mine or any other - and unique to this day. Valued $5000-plus.
