Item Description
Green fluorite covers a cluster of amethyst from a rare find at a small road cut near the Terry Fox monument along highway 17 in Thunder Bay, Canada. Unusual locality that has sparse data on mindat! Thunder Bay amethyst is renowned for its hematite inclusions and this piece also has hematite inclusions, but it's in the fluorite instead of the amethyst! There is also pyrite sprinkled across the fluorites for a little extra shine. Under UV light, the fluorite fluoresces a brilliant blue, similar to the Rogerley fluorites from England. Ex.
