Fluorite with Fluorapatite (rare association) (ex Art Soregaroli Collection)

Item Description

The famous Okorusu Mine is renowned for its multi-hued, crystals of Fluorite, which are often very good sized. Typically, you don't see a lot of associated minerals with these Fluorites, but this specimen is specimen as it features a layer of iron-stained Fluorapatite crystals, which is notably rare in my experience with this material. The Fluorite crystal on this specimen are sharp, lustrous, well-formed and show a deep transparent color combination of green, purple and blue hues. When backlit, the piece GLOWS with color, and you can see some gorgeous internal "phantom" patterns. The luster is well above average. The crystals show a balance combination of cubic faces and "stepped" octahedral modifications on the corners. The largest crystal measures 2.6 cm on edge. It is one of the better pieces from here that I have seen available in awhile, and is representative of older material from the 1970s and early 1980s finds. Great quality and the rare Fluorapatite association makes it all more enticing. From the collection of Art Soregaroli (Specimen #N449). We had this one priced at $900 in the inventory.
