Fluorite with Druzy Quartz

Rich, showy and excellent fluorite specimens are very uncommon from this old Erzgebirge mining district. Gemmy and lustrous olive-green cubes are tightly intergrown on this sculptural small cabinet. The dominating, large, central, compound crystal is 2.5 x 2.4 x 1.8 cm and the partial, preferential coatings and inclusions of sparkly druzy quartz crystals are a fine accessory and contrast. All of the many crystals in the interior are pristine. Purple LW UV fluorescence. The District was first worked for silver, later for tin, baryte and fluorite and finally for uranium (MINDAT). Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection, a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. A choice and rich fluorite from the locale with uncommon gemmy, olive-green fluorite cubes.
