Item Description

A wonderful small cabinet sized piece of the famous specimens from the Cacilia Mine featuring lustrous, gemmy crystals of Fluorite which are cubic in habit, and show a soft yellowish-green hue when backlit. The outer edges of some of the Fluorites show a selective deposition of stark red iron oxide along with soft beige colored pearly rhombs of Dolomite for a nice touch. The color of the Fluorite crystals in sunlight is a pleasing green, but more of a yellowish tone indoors. Good quality all around, and highly desirable on the market. Priced at $700. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#929). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
